Two accidents were reported in our area last week. Officers responded to a Friday morning accident, along the 100 block of North Mill Street. The report came in from the Circle K in Nashville, where 2 vehicles ran into each other. The drivers involved were Eric Foster of Steeleville and Bob Barkau of Nashville. Foster was waiting to leave the business, with Barkau behind him. Foster then backed up his vehicle and hit the front portion of Bob’s vehicle, resulting in damage to his vehicle. Information was gathered for a crash report and no injuries occurred. The next accident was later on Friday night, State Route 127, at the I-64 overpass. 30-year-old Vanessa Thouvenin, of Centralia, was traveling southbound on 127, when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the guard rail on the North bound side overpass. No injuries were reported, but Vanessa was issued two citations. She was written a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and for driving while having a suspended license.
