Nine candidates have been announced for the September 13th Miss Okawville Fair Queen pageant, at the Luechtefeld Gym at Okawville.  This is the opening day of the Fair and Wheat Festival in Okawville.  Tickets are $8 in advanced and $10 at the door, with the contest starting at 615 on Friday.  Candidates for the queen include Emma Vogt, of Nashville, Callie McClay, of Oakdale, and Okawville residents Megan Hettenhausen, Tiffany Thompson, Casean Tebbe, Kymberly Schmitt, Madison Hackstadt, Abby Riechmann, and Mallory Unverfehrt.  The winner of these 9 candidates will receive a treasure chest of gifts and cash from local businesses and organizations, plus compete in the Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant in Springfield in January 2020.  The Okawville Fair and Wheat Festival will have lots of activities in store this weekend, starting on Friday and ending on Sunday.
