A woman from Central City gets formally charged in Marion County court, after failing to report an accident back in October, which led to the death of a Junction City man. 45-year-old Lesa Oettle reportedly had been traveling southbound on old US 51, just north of Central City, when her vehicle crossed over the northbound lane, went into a ditch, hit the culvert, and traveled back onto the roadway, where it eventually came to a stop. This accident was back on October 6th of this year. Oettle then left the scene, with her vehicle left in the middle of the roadway. Eventually, a motorcycle, driven by 48-year-old Ricky Dean Taylor Jr., struck Oettle’s unattended vehicle and caused him to suffer serious injuries. He eventually was transported to an area hospital, but ended up died form his injuries 9 days later. Oettle was initially charged with driving while under the influence, improper lane usage and for leaving the scene of an injury accident. She then got charged with a Class 1 felony for failure to report a crash, resulting in a death. She was then given a notice to appear in court on December 12th for the new charge added.
