A retail store in Chicago is now open, which has no cashier or checkout line. A 2,000-square-foot Amazon Go store is up and running in Chicago, which is open from 7am to 8pm on weekdays. According to reports, customers must scan an app on their smartphone when they enter the store, with cameras and sensors tracking customers as they shop and add products to a virtual cart. Amazon will automatically charge customers’ accounts when they lease, with a sign calling it, “just walk out shopping.” It allows customers to shop for items and pay for them using the Amazon smartphone app, then walk out. The 1st Amazon Go store was set up in Seattle. The company is now planning on opening other stores in New York and San Francisco.
