A woman from Coffeen, who was a secretary to the former Sandoval JR/SR High School Superintendent, is facing a felony theft charge in Marion County.  51-year-old Marica Parr is pleading not guilty and is demanding a jury trial in her case, where she is facing a Class 3 felony for theft of between $500 and $10,000.  According to current Sandoval High School Superintendent Rob Miller, the case against Parr came up after an audit revealed that funds were missing from the school’s savings account.  The information was then turned over to the Illinois State Police Department, where they eventually turned their finding to the Marion County State’s Attorney.  Parr was then charged in March, with Parr allegedly working for the district for approximately 5 years.  He also said that she served the majority of that time under the former superintendent and only around 4 months with him.  Her next court appearance will be on June 26th.
