Ford Motor Company is recalling nearly 117,000 vehicles because of the bolts in the seats, seat belts or the seat belt buckles may fracture. The recall involves the 2014 F-Series pickup, 2014 E-Series van, 2014 Ford Escape, 2015 Ford Escape and the 2015 Lincoln MKC SUV. Most of the affected vehicles are in the United States, but there are just over 20,500 in Canada and just over 1,500 in Mexico. Ford said in the statement that if the bolt fractures, the seat or the seat belt could be compromised in its performance if a sudden stop or crash occurs. The company said that they are unaware of any accidents or injuries as a result of the defection. Customers who have either the 2014 F-Series pickup, 2014 E-Series van, 2014 Ford Escape, 2015 Ford Escape or the 2015 Lincoln MKC SUV will be notified and dealers will replace the affected bolts, seat belts or seat belt buckles for free.
