Illinois Realtors’ reports that Illinois statewide home sales were down by 14.7-percent from last year in December.  6 homes were sold in Washington County last month, which down by 2 homes or by 25-percent from what we saw in December 2017.  In Clinton County, 22 homes were sold in December, down by 11 homes or by 33-percent from last year.  Overall in 2018, we had 86 homes sold in Washington County, down by 18-percent from 2017, and 204 homes in Clinton County, up by 1 from 2017.  Home sales in Illinois was down by 2.5-percent for 2018.  The Statewide Median Price in December was right at $185,500, up by $500 from 2017.  The median is a typical market price where half the homes sold for more and half sold for less.  In Washington County, the median price was down by around 2-percent, for a figure of $97,250.  The median price in Clinton County was $148,000, up by 36-percent from December 2017.  To end the 2018 year, homes in Illinois cost $202,000, up by 3.6-percent from 2017, with Washington County homes selling for $93,000, down by around 10-percent from 2017, and Clinton County homes selling for $135,000, a 12.5-percent increase from the previous year.  Homes were on the market an average of 59 days in Illinois, down by 1 home from last year.  In Washington County, homes were on the market for an average of 108 days in 2018, up by 1 home in 2017, and Clinton County homes were on the market for an average of 64 days, down by 23-percent from the previous year.  All these figures are from the Illinois Realtors official report.
