The Mt. Vernon Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team served a drug search warrant early on Thursday morning, along the 500 block of South 24th street in Mt. Vernon, resulting in 5 arrests. This was a result of the Police Department’s Narcotics unit investigation. A search by detectives revealed quantities of heroin, methamphetamine and drug equipment. Authorities arrested 30-year-old Cody James on alleged possession of heroin, meth and drug equipment, 49-year-old Carrie Havansek on alleged possession of heroin, meth, and an outstanding Clinton County warrant, for failure to appear for possession of dangerous drugs, 38-year-old Henry York on possession of heroin, 36-year-old Jessica Phillippe on possession of heroin and 38-year-old Kevin Phillips on alleged possession of drug equipment.
