A man from Kinmundy was charged on Monday, in regard to a home invasion to a Salem home and an assault to the home owner.  25-year-old Trenton Pearson was formally charged with a Class X felony of home invasion and a Class 4 felony of criminal trespass, after he was arrested along the 2100 block of Old Texas Lane early on Sunday morning.  Reports indicate that at around 530am on Sunday morning, Pearson showed up to the home to look for his ex-girlfriend, with Pearson kicking down the door to force his way in.  He then allegedly began to push the home owner against the wall while searching the home for the woman.  While the woman was at the home at the time of the incident, Pearson was unable to find her.  The homeowner reportedly suffered minor injuries from the incident, but he did not seek hospitalization.  The ex-girlfriend also reportedly had an active order of protection against Pearson at the time.
