A one-vehicle crash occurred along northbound Interstate 57 between Dix and Centralia.  The crash occurred Thursday night, just before 10pm.  The reasoning behind the crash is unknown at this time, but 3 of the passengers were airlifted to a St. Louis Hospital and one was taken by an ambulance to a nearby hospital.  The female driver was uninjured, along with a 4 passenger.  One, an 11-year-old, had to be taken to an area hospital by an ambulance.  The other 3, a 5-year-old male, a 10-year-old female and an 18-year-old female, had to all be airlifted through 3 different medical helicopters to evacuate them to hospitals in St. Louis to treat their injuries.  The extents of the injuries have not been reported at this time.  The interstate was in that area was down for about an hour while the situation was getting taken care of.
