The Washington County Health Department has been reporting to their 1st collection of mosquitos, which did include some testing positive for the West Nile Virus for the 2018 season. The area that was tested, and tested positive, was located in Nashville. With warm weather still occurring through September, it is a perfect time for mosquitos to carry the virus with them. Remember to use the 3 R’s to prevent yourself from getting the West Nile Virus. Reduce the number of mosquitos and rid of containers that hold water, Repel, by using at least 30-percent of DEET or other recommended repellent, and Report areas of concern or where water stands longer than 1 week. If you have any questions or see ditches with water that is over a week old, call the Washington County Health Department at 618-327-36-44. That number again is 327-3644.
