The Nashville Chamber of Commerce held a general membership meeting yesterday at Little Nashville.  The Chamber received good feedback on the Fall Festival and they are currently looking for entertainment next year and if anyone has any ideas, they should contact Kerri Huge at the Chamber.  There is a ribbon cutting at Mill Street Pizza, the new restaurant just north of the train tracks in Nashville.  It is at 8 AM this morning.  The golf outing is on Saturday, October 17th and there is still room for teams to participate.  The next big event is the Moonlight Madness, is on November 1st from 6 to 8:30 PM.  Also, the Chamber Savings Card will go on sale that day.  Then, planning ahead, Santa Saturday is scheduled for November 30th during the day.  It will feature a window decorating contest, carriage rides and more as Santa will arrive in town and there will be a movie with popcorn and soda for the kids.  Also, the stores are encouraged to do their best to bring the customers into their business as the people will be in town for the event.  There was a special guest speaker at yesterday’s meeting talking about electric aggregation for businesses.  In the past couple of elections, nearly all communities voted for electrical aggregation to save money on lower rates per kilowatt.  Rob Wielt of Affordable Gas & Electric, who was instrumental in explaining the situation before the last election, talked about how businesses can sign up through the Chamber to work towards better rates.  He said the Chamber would even receive a small commission, but ultimately the goal is to get more businesses signed up to get lower rates.  Wielt said electric rates seemed to bottom out and then remained flat.  The rate he said would be 4.52 cents per kilowatt, which would be a savings of almost 1 cent.  For more information on signing up through the Chamber, contact Kerri Huge at 327-3700.  The next general meeting will be on Tuesday, November 12 at noon at Buretta’s Bar & Grill.
