The Hoyleton Grade School Board of Education met late last week and Superintendent Elaine Hemker says it was a rather quick meeting, but they talked about an important safety item, that being a security system.  Currently, they have some outside buildings that serve as classrooms and they discussed what they can do to increase the safety of those students, while in the other buildings and while moving between them during the school day.  The Board will begin asking for bids on different plans.  Hemker also said they are slightly over budget at meeting time, as they have recently purchased a bus, but that figure also doesn’t reflect the Washington County Tax Payment they just received, so that overage could change by next month’s meeting.  There will be a special meeting at 6 PM on November 21st for the semi-annual meeting with Trinity Lutheran in Hoyleton, as the schools share transportation and sports.  Then the regular Hoyleton Grade School meeting will take place.
