The Nashville Police Department responded to nearly 10 calls last week, ranging from a neglected child to an assault to a violent employee.  They also responded to many accidents.  One was a fender bender at McDonald’s in the parking lot early last week.  There was a similar accident at Hardee’s on Friday.  The more serious accidents involved the police finding a vehicle in a parking lot at the intersection of North Mill Street, just south of East Elm Street last Monday afternoon.  There was a broken wooden post, as well as a downed speed limit sign and a no parking sign.  20-year old Xinyu Zhao of Carbondale was cited for Improper Lane Usage and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.  Another accident involving 3 vehicles happened last Tuesday mid-morning at the intersection of North Mill Street and East Walnut Street.  According to that report, a vehicle driven by 21-year old Jessica Garrison of Ashley allegedly rear-ended a vehicle driven by 26-year old Jonathon Smith of Carbondale.  Then a vehicle driven by 74-year old Helen Nall of Carbondale allegedly rear-ended Garrison.  No citations were issued and no injuries were reported.  Then, later that afternoon, there was another 3-vehicle accident at the intersection of East Saint Louis and North Mill Street.  According to that report, a vehicle driven by 51-year old Richard Pingsterhaus of Nashville reported that it did not stop properly and he rear-ended a vehicle driven by 76-year old Edwin Stiegman Junior of Nashville, which rear-ended a vehicle driven by 67-year old Linda Noblin of Carrollton, Texas.  There were no injuries and no one was cited.  There was a hit and run on Thursday afternoon.  According to that NPD report, a 13-year old riding a bicycle at East Lebanon and South Mill Street was struck by a white car.  The female driver stopped to check on the boy, but then drove off.  The boy was not seriously injured and no one has been cited for the accident.  Finally, late Friday night, a vehicle driven by 38-year old Charles Musielak of Nashville, allegedly pulled out in front a vehicle driven by 18-year old Keegan Anderson of Hoyleton.  This was at the intersection of South Kaskaskia Street and West Adams.  No one was injured and there was no mention of any injuries.
