The United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton, announced that 41-year old Jane Johanna Emily, also known as Jane Moeller, of Saint Louis, Missouri, was arraigned last Tuesday on three charges that she stole packages from the U.S. Mail. The indictment alleges that in March and April 2013, Emily, who was working as a supervisor in the East Saint Louis Post Office, opened and stole mail packages. The federal grand jury indictment charges Emily with Obstruction of Mail, Theft of U.S. Mail by a Postal Employee and Opening of Mail. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and up to 3 years of supervised release.
