The Washington County FSA Office reminds producers that nominations for FSA County Committees are accepted until August 1st. These committees administer agency programs at the county and area level. Committee membership is made up of one person from each local administrative area in the county and they serve a 3-year term. Each year individuals and groups representing farmers are asked to nominate people who are representative of the agricultural producers in the county or local administrative area to serve on the County Committee. To hold office a person must have an interest in farming operation and meet the basic eligibility requirements. Individuals may nominate themselves or others as candidates. There are 3 local administrative areas iWashington County. Ashley, Beaucoup, Bolo, DuBois, Pilot Knob and Richview Townships are in one area. Johannisburg, Lively Grove, Nashville, Oakdale and Plum Hill Townships are in another area, while Covington, Hoyleton, Irvington, Okawville and Venedy Townships make up another area.
