The Nashville City Council met last night and Utility Department Supervisor Blaine Middleton told the Council that he received a call around noon on Saturday, August 16th from his counterpart in Chester for help.  Apparently there was an accident and a downed power line, but it has somehow caused a disruption in the gas line and so it was shut off to a large part of the area.  Through the mutual aid agreement between the communities, Middleton sent 4 gas workers to Chester, where they helped re-light some of the 500 businesses and residents, as well as look for leaks after the danger was over.  The crews were in Chester for over 11 hours and he said it was a good experience for them.  Middleton said there was no explosion.
