CLINTON COUNTY — Two Centralia men are facing serious drug-related felony charges in Clinton County following their arrests in New Baden.

According to New Baden Police Department, a traffic stop shortly after midnight Monday resulted in the arrests of two passengers in the vehicle: 36-year-old Brandon Craig McMullin and 45-year-old Joshua N. Phelps on charges they delivered methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Police information indicates several baggies containing a combined 266 grams of meth and 286 capsules believed to contain Fentanyl were seized from inside the vehicle, along with another smaller amount of a substance believed to be meth.

Both McMullin and Phelps were charged separately Wednesday in Clinton County Court with Class X felony delivery of between 100 and 400 grams of meth, possession of between 100 and 400 grams of meth, as well as delivery of between 15 and 100 grams of fentanyl and Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance.

Following the alleged discovery of the drugs, police took both men into custody and transported them to the Clinton County Jail where they await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bond.
