MARION COUNTY — A 21-year-old Richview man has been charged Monday in Marion County Court with sexual assault and domestic battery almost exactly a year after he was charged with nearly identical offenses against a different woman in Washington County.

Washington County Sheriff’s deputies reportedly arrested Isaak Clark Friday on the Class X charge of aggravated criminal sexual assault causing bodily harm and Class 2 felony domestic battery involving strangling.

According to Centralia police, they responded to a report of someone screaming in an apartment on Fairway Drive. Officers reportedly knocked on several doors but no one answered. They later received a report from SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital notifying them of the alleged incident.

The female alleged victim reportedly received numerous injuries including to her face and neck. She was ultimately transferred to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Clark was arrested in October 2021 in Washington County on charges of Class X felony aggravated criminal sexual assault causing bodily harm, Class 1 felony criminal sexual assault by force and Class 2 felony aggravated domestic battery involving strangling.

He was free on bail in the Washington County case when arrested in the Marion County case.  Clark is scheduled to go to trial in the Washington County case in January. Bond remains to be set in the Marion County case along with the scheduling of his next court date.
