CARLYLE — Two Carlyle residents were arrested over the weekend on multiple high-level drug felonies.

Carlyle police arrested 40-year-old Lance Hellige, and 42-year-old Paula Warden following a traffic stop Saturday.

Bond was set at $200,000 Monday in Clinton County Court for Hellige who was formally charged with two Class X felonies for delivery of between 100 and 400 grams of methamphetamine, and possession of between 100 and 400 grams of meth, as well as Class 1 felony delivery of between 1 and 15 grams of fentanyl, and Class 4 possession of a controlled substance.

Bond was set in court Monday at $100,000 for Warden who was charged with the same felony offenses as Hellige, as well as misdemeanor driving while license revoked, and was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Carlyle police had arrested Hellige just days earlier on a Class 3 felony charge of possessing less than 5 grams of meth. He was released Thursday from the Clinton County Jail after posting $750 in cash bond.

Both he and Warden are due in court on March 15 for preliminary hearings and first appearances with their court-appointed attorneys.
