JEFFERSON COUNTY — Two people were arrested Sunday after Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 9000 block of North Triton Lane in Mt. Vernon.

According to the sheriff’s department, when deputies arrived and were searching the property, they located two suspects, 23-year-old Baron D. Fleener of Valier and 26-year-old Brittany L. Cassidy of Mt. Vernon, at the residence.

During the initial search and contact with the suspects evidence of criminal activity was identified and collected.

Fleener and Cassidy were both taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jefferson County Jail. Both were charged with the crimes of Residential Burglary and Criminal Trespass to Residence.
