FAYETTE COUNTY — The attorney of a woman accused of being part of an alleged child pornography ring in Vandalia confirmed in Fayette County Court Thursday that a plea agreement has been reached in her case.

Amber Wehrle was one of three people arrested in 2021 after a joint investigation by state, federal, and local law enforcement agencies led to her arrest and the arrests of her husband Andrew Wehrle, and a former Patoka Pastor Ferrell Kissiar on numerous charges related to the alleged distribution and reproduction of child pornography.

The three cases were ultimately joined together, with the three cases slated to be tried together by a Fayette County jury in June.

However, the defense indicated last week that she was prepared to enter into a possible plea agreement with the state.

The case was scheduled to be heard Monday, but her defense attorney failed to appear in court that day.

Then on Thursday morning, both prosecution and defense reported they’d reached an agreement in the case against Amber Wehrle and scheduled a May 17 hearing for the agreement to be presented to the court.

The two men in the case, Andrew Wehrle and Ferrel Kissiar, remain scheduled at this time for a June jury trial on their charges.
