IDOT is alerting motorists that Interstate 57 southbound is reportedly shut down in the southern portion of Williamson County.

According to an alert from the Illinois Department of Transportation, the southbound lanes of I-57 are shut down at Route 148 as of 9:35 a.m. on Friday.

They urge motorists to take a detour around the area.
