The City of Centralia will be hosting their annual fall city-wide cleanup event, which will be from Monday, October 8th through Friday, October 12th. The curbside pickup service is provided by the City of Centralia and their Public Works Department. Participation is limited to single-family residences, town homes, condominiums and apartments that do not exceed 4 units per building. All items need to be placed on the curb by 6am on your assigned trash pickup day, even if your trash pickup is in the alley. The city will continue to accept white goods, such as freezers, fridges, stoves, washing machines, dryers and similar appliances. Residents are also asked to place smaller items in a container, such as a box or a bag. Residents are asked to consider recycling any cardboard, glass, aluminum and paper products to the Clean and Green Recycling Center in Centralia, located at West McCord Street. This route will only go through one time, no exceptions. The week after the city-wide cleanup is finished, Republic Services will begin leaf vacuuming services for all residents. That will be starting on Monday, October 15th and continue through Friday, December 7th. Vacuuming services will follow the trash collection schedule for each week. Leaves must be ready for vacuum by 6am on your scheduled pickup day. If there is severe weather, equipment malfunction or a holiday on your pickup day, it will be done on the following day or as soon as possible.
