A Centralia man who is accused of pointed a loaded gun at an officer, was in court this past Tuesday in Marion County Court.  51-year-old Robert Manley is facing a Class X felony charge for armed violence, along with 3 additional Class 3 felonies, with 2 being in possession of a firearm and being a felon, and one for possession of less than 5 grams of meth.  Manley was arrested earlier this month by Centralia police, who were investigating a reckless driving complaint.  Manley allegedly was leaving to the east side of the Casey’s Store on foot, after the call came in.  A brief foot chase then ensued, with Manley allegedly had a loaded handgun on him, then went on to drop or toss the gun, then got tased by the officer.  A 2nd firearm was also found inside of his vehicle.  Manley allegedly told the officer that he would have shot him, but he was unable to get his gun out of his holster.
