A firefighter from Christopher loses his life while in the line of duty, during a multi-alarm commercial building fire early on Sunday morning in Christopher.  According to a post from the Firefighters Volunteers Facebook page, firefighter Kody Vanfossan died from injuries sustained during the call.  His father was also in the building at the time of the fire and had suffered injuries, which were treated later.  17 fire departments and 6 police stations assisted in the incident, which saw a 2-story structure fire to a vacant furniture store, located at 1-18 West Market Street in Christopher.  No one was inside when the fire started, which was reported at around 330am on Sunday.  It is not known at this time how the fire started, but a stairwell collapsed with firefighters in that location.  This incident is still under investigation.
