One of the two men, who was charged in the 2016 Easter weekend death of a former Centralia man at his home in Carbondale, has entered a plea agreement with prosecutors, in exchange for murder charges being dismissed. John Ingram and Travis Tyler were co-defendants in the death of Tim Beaty, who was inside of his apartment at the time of the incident. Back on March 27th, 2016, Beaty was killed by a stray bullet that went through his home. On Friday, Ingram plead guilty to a charge of aggravated use of a firearm, in exchange for prosecutors dropping murder charges. Tyler has his trail on murder charges today. Two other men have already been implicated in the case. Dwayne Dunn is currently on probation, after pleading guilty to weapons charges and Daniel Holmes is set to go to trial in May for weapon charges too. July selection is expected to start today in Tyler’s trail, while Ingram’s sentencing will be on May 17th.
