A Thursday morning crash along Interstate 57 causes the roadway to be down a lane for almost 4 hours.  86-year-old Charles Sparks of Fairview Heights, was traveling along I-57, when he attempted to pass another vehicle near mile-marker 64.5 northbound.  His camper trailer, which was being lifted by his truck, started to dip a little on the left-side shoulder.  Sparks over-corrected and began to lose control of his vehicle and his camper on the interstate.  The camper trailer and truck began to overturn and came to a rest in 2 northbound lanes, with the trailer still connected to the truck.  Northbound I-57 was down a lane while the crash investigation was conducted and the scene was cleaned up.  Sparks had to be extracted from the vehicle by West Frankfort Fire Fighters, following being transported to an area hospital by an ambulance to treat his non-life-threatening injuries.  Sparks got cited for improper lane usage.  All lanes were reopened at 11am with no restrictions.
