Kaskaskia College announces that they will once again be offering the Reading Link program to the area. The Reading Link was formed in order to help combat illiteracy in the 5 counties that KC College has in their district. The program provides free tutoring services by trained volunteers to help adults, ages 16 and older, in areas of reading, writing, math, computer use, or English as a 2nd Language. They also help with improving existing skills. Tutoring provides one-on-one learning basis that will be held in a convenient public setting, such as a library, school or church. This service is free of charge and is strictly confidential between the student and the tutor. Also anyone who wants to volunteer as a reading tutor can do so, with volunteers being required to work a minimum of 2 hours per week. For more information, call 618-545-31-19.
