A man from Mt. Vernon will be back in court, following a pre-trial hearing for a total of 20 counts of child pornography to a victim under 13-years-old.  66-year-old Aaron Thomas was charged with 3 Class X felonies for a July 2018 arrest, after Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies spent several months gathering evidence to obtain a search warrant to his home.  Deputies at the time of the arrest seized a computer and other items from Thomas’ home, which allegedly had child pornography.  That evidence was then taken to the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s office, which led to a presentation of evidence to a judge, who then issued a warrant for his arrest.  The initial indictment was on the 3 Class X felony counts of child pornography possession, but that number has since increased to 20.  He will remain at the Jefferson County Jail, with bail set at $75,000.
