The United Auto Workers union has picked General Motors as the target company, for this year’s contract talks.  The move means that General Motors will be the focus of bargaining and any deal with the company will set the pattern for Ford and for Fiat Chrysler.  That also means that if the union decided to go on strike, it would be against GM.  The union’s contract with GM, Ford, and Fiat Chrysler will expire at 1159pm on September 14th, that’s this Saturday.  Earlier the union announced that over 96-percent of its members voted to authorize strikes against the companies.
