It’s not often that there is construction in downtown Nashville, but there is a big undertaking going on now at Meier Chevrolet Buick on the east side of town.  Owner Mike Meier says the building is old and needs the renovation.  But they are doing much more than renovation, they are expanding.  Meier says the Kirchhofer family built the dealership in the late 1930s and while there have been partial renovations and repairs since then, the building is getting an make over and will look modern, like many other dealerships are doing now.  They began with lot expansion and now will build a new section on the west side of the structure.  This will become the new offices.  The current offices will become part of the showroom, along with an addition to the front.  Meier says this will give the customer more room to shop around.  The new section will also house the detailing and washing sections, giving more room to the garage, which will also be improved.  Meier hopes the outside is completely done by late December and they have moved the offices, so they can get the inside finished by the end of February.  A couple of weeks ago, it was hard to tell what was being accomplished, but now the workers have really got it shaped out.  Keep watching the progression.
