The 26-year-old mother of Willow Long, the 7-year-old Effingham girl who was stabbed to death, has been arrested in Shelby County for alleged Possession of Drug Paraphernalia following a routine traffic stop.  In addition to being Willow’s mother, Ciara DeRyke is the sister of the 22-year old man charged with Willow’s murder.  Questions remain about possible criminal charges being filed against Ciara DeRyke for providing false information to police after her daughter was reported missing.  She is reported to have told authorities that she had seen her daughter eating breakfast and watching television that Sunday morning in September.  However, according to police, the girl was already dead at that time, as her body was wrapped in plastic and dumped in the Little Wabash River.
