The Nashville Consolidated School District 49 Board of Education met last night.  The focus of meeting was on technology.   The Board heard a Strategic Plan on Technology about a District-wide Technology Vision, which looks to move the school into the future of technology.  This envisions having a technological community in the building that provides the students with the opportunity to grow.  This means having global access to information, while meeting the curricular needs of all students, create critical thinking skills and foster creativity, among other goals for the students.  The teachers will provide this through technology and it will help them move into the technology based teaching and learning methods.  The administration’s part in this strategic plan is to provide support and guidance for the teachers and students with the implementation of the technology.  The need to have the correct equipment to allow for the growth of this plan will also be necessary, so the Board will need to be supportive as well.  The Board approved this Technology Vision plan.  In the Superintendent’s Report, Mike Brink said the school is detached from the high school’s internet and there will be some significant differences that will be noticeable.  Principal Chuck Fairbanks presented his report, saying that basketball has begun and the first home games are this Monday for the girls and Tuesday for the boys.  The food drive will be in a couple of weeks and the Christmas Programs will be on December 9th for the Primary School and on December 10th for the Middle School.
