A 34-year-old Mount Vernon man has been arrested in connection with a Sunday afternoon shooting.  According to Mount Vernon police, Marquez L. Williams of Cleveland Street was arrested yesterday for felony Mob Action in connection with the shooting of 35-year old Daniel Cortez-Reyes around 2 PM, the previous day at 9th and Cleveland Streets in Mount Vernon.  Cortez-Reyes, of Mount Vernon, was shot four times, then allegedly got into a vehicle, but was stopped by officers shortly afterwards and taken to a local hospital.  He was ultimately airlifted to a Saint Louis hospital.  On Monday, Cortes-Reyes was released from the hospital and arrested by Saint Louis police on a Jefferson County warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to deliver.  Bond has been set at $250,000.  The incident remains under active investigation and if anyone has any information, they should call the MVPD at 242-2727 or Crimestoppers, which is anonymous at 242-tips.  Additional arrests are anticipated.
