Updating the story about the shooting in Mount Vernon on Sunday, a 34-year-old Mount Vernon man was arrested in connection with a shooting over the weekend, and bond has been set at $25,000.  According to Mount Vernon police, Marcus L. Williams, who lives on Cleveland Street was arrested Monday for felony Mob Action in connection with the shooting of 35-year old Daniel Cortez-Reyes around 2 PM on Sunday at 9th and Cleveland Streets in Mount Vernon.  Cortez-Reyes, of Mount Vernon, was shot four times and was taken to a local hospital.  He was ultimately airlifted to a Saint Louis hospital.  Later on Monday, Cortes-Reyes was released from the hospital and arrested by Saint Louis police on a Jefferson County warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to deliver.  His bond has been set at $250,000 and he is still in Saint Louis.  The incident remains under active investigation and additional arrests could be made.
