Two Belleville construction workers escaped injury as the truck there were using was struck yesterday morning at 11:01 in Hamilton County.  According to the preliminary report from the Illinois State Police out of District 19, it occurred on Illinois Route 14 at Hamilton County Road 1575 East, as the driver of the truck, 38-year old Alan E. Foran, was stopped and working in a marked construction zone with his hazard lights activated on Illinois Route 14, when the driver of another vehicle, 42-year old Karen D. Miller of Mount Vernon, struck the rear of the truck.  Miller was transported to Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro for injuries sustained as a result of the traffic crash.  Foran did not report any injuries, as well as another construction worker, 25-year old Cole A. Greenfield, who was standing on the running board of the truck and was able to jump off prior to the collision.  Miller was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
