The BP at the 4-way stoplight intersection in Nashville has closed, but it is not changing owners. It will be undergoing renovations and according to owner Holly Kruep of Rolln Up, Incorporated it will become a smoke shop – liquor store, called Rolln Up. She says this is the 9th shop in southern Illinois. The plan is to get the gas tanks out of the ground, get rid of the canopy and renovate the inside. There will be a drive up window and the outside will look different, but the structure will not expand. Kruep says the store will be opening in the spring. She says, as a small entity in the gas business, it was getting tough, as the larger entities have a hold on the market, so they are getting out of the gasoline business and concentrating on offering a clean, bright convenience store feel for a tobacco and liquor shop. The store will still open early and offer many of the amenities that Nashville residents had gotten before, such as the soda fountain and coffee.
