A stretch of highway in southern Illinois will be named after a veteran killed in a blast in Iraq. The honor will go to Private First Class Wyatt Eisenhauer, who died when an improvised explosive device detonated in 2005. The Southern Illinoisan reports his parents were presented Thursday with a smaller version of a sign that will label the highway. The sign will mark a section of Illinois Route 127 as the “Pfc. Wyatt D. Eisenhauer Memorial Highway.” Eisenhauer’s mother, Gay Eisenhauer, says she’s happy that service members like her son are being remembered.
