The Illinois Department of Employment Security has released the results of the November unemployment rates and almost each county went up from October. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the state is at 8.7 percent down from 8.9 in October. The nation’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is at 7.0, down from 7.3 percent. Counties in southern Illinois experienced increases, but still some of the highest rates in the state. The seasonally unadjusted numbers for Washington County are at 6.5 percent, up from 5.9 percent in October. It is the 3rd lowest unemployment rate in the state. Jefferson County went up from 8.5 percent in October to 9.1 in November. Clinton went up from 6.7 to 6.9 percent and it is the 4th lowest rate. Perry County went up from 10.9 in October to 11.5 for last month and now has the 4th highest unemployment percentage in the state. Marion County went up from 10.3 to 11.1 and has the 5th worst rate in the state for the month of November. Randolph County is at 8.5 percent last month and that is up from 7.9 in October, while Saint Clair County increased from 8.8 to 9.3 percent unemployment.
