The Hoyleton Grade School Board of Education met last Thursday night. Superintendent Elaine Hemker says they advertise for bids for mowing services at the school. Anyone interested can stop by the main office at the school for an information sheet on it. They discussed applying for a grant to increase building security, which includes the issue of children moving from the main building to trailers for classes. Hemker also explained the awards ceremony on Friday, as they gave out attendance awards and academic performance or improvement awards. She says they had more 2nd quarter perfect attendance students than 1st quarter. They do this each quarter. Hemker also says they are trying to reschedule that meeting with Dr. Osborne about what they can do with the low enrollment numbers at the school.
