The Nashville Police Department was busy in the past week. They responded to 16 calls, as well as some accidents. Calls included a welfare check, a dog bite, a disturbance, phone harassment, a property exchange, a missing or suicidal person, assisting the Sheriff’s Office on a couple of calls and a domestic disturbance. There was a fender bender at McDonalds on Thursday. They investigated an open door at the Four Jacks Tavern on the 500 block of North Kaskaskia Street in Nashville last Tuesday and found 53-year old Gary D. Le Vault of Granite City inside. He said he worked for the new owner, but after running a check, they found a couple Failure to Appear warrants from Madison County in effect for Le Vault, so he was taken into custody. They also responded to a call about a missing or stolen semi tractor trailer truck last Tuesday. According to Chief Brian Fletcher, they received a call from EJA Trucking, Incorporated out of Mehlville, Missouri, that they had tracked the truck to Little Nashville. The NPD went and secured the vehicle. The Saint Louis Police Department came out and got the truck and trailer. No one was taken into custody, but it is a Saint Louis Police matter now. There were 2 accidents within 10 minutes of each other on Thursday at the intersection of East Chester Street and South Mill Street. The first was at 8:04 AM as a vehicle driven by 71-year old William Barrett of Nashville rear-ended a vehicle driven by 33-year old Kelly Cruser, also of Nashville. The other accident occurred at 8:15 AM as a vehicle driven by 57-year old Marilyn Aaron of Nashville rear-ended a vehicle driven by 32-year old Shana Bowers, also of Nashville. There were no injuries or citations in either accident.
