The Nashville High School concert band is going to Peoria today to perform at the Illinois Music Education Association Convention tomorrow morning. There will be a parade out of town led by the fire truck at approximately 1:40 or 1:45. It will leave the school and go left at the stop light headed west and then loop back around, just as any sports team receives. For the band, they auditioned against at least 100 other bands and were 1 of 3 high school bands chosen to perform, so for them, this is winning state. They’ve been practicing since November and have put a lot of time and commitment into this prestigious performance, so brave the cold and line the streets early this afternoon. As far as anyone knows, this is the first time the band will get escorted through town.
