Some Illinois hospitals are barring sick visitors or regulating their visits to limit the spread of flu. Some hospitals have adopted guidelines for visitors and urge those who are sick to stay home or wear a mask. The Bloomington Pantagraph reports that Illinois Department of Public Health statistics indicate that 450 people have been admitted to intensive care units with flu this season. 37 have died. The paper reports some hospitals have strictly limited visits to combat the spread of flu, while others are prohibiting visitors who are ill and children under 18 years of age.
