The Executive Director of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce has resigned.  Kerri Huge has given her 2 weeks notice and will go back to working in the travel industry, something she had done in her previous 28 years, before taking the chamber job.  She will have been the Executive Director for a few months short of 4 years, but has seen growth since then, noting that the membership has greatly increased, they keep active, she has pushed that there be a guest speaker at each member meeting to keep it interesting, as well as to provide information about the community.  She also feels the Fall Festival has grown in the past 4 years and the Citizen of the Year is now the Volunteer of the Year, which focuses on the volunteerism in the community by so many.  The Board of Directors will begin searching for a new Executive Director to keep the chamber moving forward and Huge has a suggestion for those interested in the position, saying that the person needs to have a love for the community and a passion to keep it alive and vibrant.  She says she has worked outside of Nashville and one of the greatest pride is to hear someone else say Nashville is a beautiful community, and that tradition needs to stay alive.  Huge says she will be working in town and will help the new person get going.
