A recent clothing drive was held by Americorps students at Kaskaskia College last month and Jordan Dalaviras, who spearheaded the project, said it was a success, as they collected over 20 bags of clothing.  He explains that this was originally for tornado victims and they collected clothes for males and females from adults to children, as well as shoes.  They donated the donations to the BCMW in Nashville.  He thanked KC President Dr. Jim Underwood for allowing the project, as well as the 11 students that worked on it and everyone who donated.  Community Resource Specialist for BCMW for Washington County, Jennifer Szopinski, talks about who is eligible for these items, and that includes different families in the community and they are able to come in to pick out clothes if they are income eligible or have had a tragedy of some kind.  They can find items for each of their family members.  She says everything they have has been donated and is free to the clients.  To donate or to find out how to receive items, contact the BCMW at 618-327-8476.
