The accident that caused the power outage Saturday night in Nashville and parts of northwestern Washington County was due to an SUV striking a utility pole. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office’s report, it occurred on County Highway 27 or Teddy Bear Lane, approximately a half mile north of Illinois Route 15 at 11:13 PM. The vehicle, driven by 37-year old Michael F. Reynolds of Nashville, was traveling north and went off the road, then striking the pole, due to the icy road conditions. Reynolds was not injured, but his passenger, 41-year old Wylenthia L. Reynolds of the same address, was injured and transported to Washington County Hospital. There were no citations issued. Ameren crews restored most of the 1,170 customers by 3:10 AM on Sunday and the rest by 6 AM after making the repairs at the scene of the accident.
