Being held on charges of resisting police and aggravated battery, a 25-year old Richview man attempted to escape yesterday morning, when being led back from a Marion County Court appearance to the county jail.  Reports indicate Dustin Atteberry ran at the Schwartz and Washington Street intersection when he along with two other inmates were being walked back to the jail after appearing in court.  Atteberry reportedly ran west across North Broadway and the county parking lot before being tackled to the ground on the lawn of the Eric Terlizzi Law Office on West Schwartz Street.  The one correctional officer leading the three inmates back to the courthouse was joined in the foot pursue.  Inmates normally wear leg shackles in addition to handcuffs.  However, the leg shackles were not used Monday because of the icy conditions.  Additional charges against Atteberry are anticipated.  His mother and sister were also arrested and charged with Obstructing a Police Officer.  Reports say 52-year old Rhonda Atteberry of Richview and 27-year old Natasha Thorpe of Centralia allegedly refused to comply with the orders of deputies and continued to communicate with Dustin Atteberry.  Both were later released on $150 bond.  Dustin Atteberry had allegedly yelled at the two as he was being walked back to the jail prior to running on foot.  Atteberry had just been formally charged at the courthouse with Aggravated Battery and Resisting Arrest following a Saturday incident, where he allegedly fled in a car from Centralia Police after being involved in an altercation with his sister at the Knight’s Inn.  The car chase turned into a foot chase after Atteberry crashed the vehicle into a power pole in the 800 block of Wabash Avenue.  The Centralia Canine Officer was brought in to help track Attebery.  Bond was set at $100,000 during his first court appearance.  The public defender was appointed to represent him.
