The Nashville High School FFA Public Speakers recently won many honors while competing at the Section 21 Public Speaking Contest at Kaskaskia College.  The contest has five categories which speakers can compete in, including Varsity Prepared, JV Prepared, Varsity Extemporaneous, JV Extemporaneous, and FFA Creed Speaking.  As the name implies prepared speaking requires presenting a 6 to 8 minute speech from memory that was prepared before the contest.  The extemporaneous contest requires the participant to draw an agricultural topic and prepare a 3 to 5 minute speech in 20 minutes.  In the Creed contest participants recite the FFA Creed form memory and answer questions about its meaning and purpose.  In Creed Speaking Kirstin Pillow placed 6th and Jordan Kozuszek placed 8th.  In the JV Extemporaneous Ana Harrison placed 2nd.  In Varsity Extemporaneous, Tricia Herrman placed 2nd and earned an 18 credit hour scholarship to KC.  For Varsity Prepared, Morgan Dodson placed 2nd and earned a 9 credit hour scholarship to KC.  Dodson and Herrman now advance to the district contest on April 2nd
