Through rain, snow, and all that other stuff a mail carrier has to do to get the mail to the residents of Washington County, it can be dangerous, especially when navigating the county roads.  Nashville United States Postal Service Postmaster Barrie Lynn Betz says one local mail carrier was recognized for his longevity at staying safe with that being Larry Harre, a 39-year veteran, who was recognized by the USPS as having gone 1 million miles without an accident.  She says this generally will take over 30 years by a rural carrier to achieve 1 million miles.  Harre has always been local and he received a plaque and pen for this achievement, as well as they threw a party for him.
